MLD for Wellness

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, rhythmic bodywork technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system and encourage the natural movement of lymph fluids throughout the body. Using light, precise strokes, MLD helps reduce swelling, improve circulation, and support the immune system.

I practice therapeutic Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) rooted in Dr. Vodder's method, focusing on medical-adjacent applications such as post-surgical recovery, swelling reduction, and overall wellness.

  • This is not Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage (BLD) or Brazilian Lymphatic massage, which is often marketed for body sculpting or aesthetic contouring. My focus is on evidence-based lymphatic health, not temporary cosmetic results. If you are looking for massage, Manual Lymph Drainage is NOT the droid you’re looking for. It is bodywork, but it is not massage.

Key Health Benefits:

  1. Post-Operative Recovery: MLD is widely used after surgery to reduce swelling (edema), minimize bruising, and accelerate healing. It can help improve tissue regeneration and enhance comfort during the recovery process.

  2. Detoxification and Immune Support: By stimulating lymph flow, MLD helps the body eliminate toxins and waste more efficiently, supporting immune function and reducing inflammation.

  3. Relief from Chronic Conditions: MLD can be beneficial for individuals dealing with conditions such as lymphedema, fibromyalgia, scleroderma, or chronic fatigue, offering relief from fluid retention, pain, and stiffness.

“Her technique is outstanding. I was recommended by my doctor to do lymphatic massages after my surgery. Every doctor’s visit I was told my recovery was progressing amazingly. I owe it to Laura. It’s clear she has deep understanding of the craft and I feel so much better after each session. "
